Córdoba apoya la propuesta de conceder el Príncipe de Asturias a Marcos Ana

El Ayuntamiento de Córdoba ha respaldado hoy, de manera unánime, la propuesta de la Universidad de Granada de conceder el premio Príncipe de Asturias de la Concordia al poeta Fernando Macarro Castillo, más conocido como Marcos Ana, que estuvo 23 años en la cárcel durante la dictadura franquista.

La moción conjunta justifica la propuesta en 23 motivos, tantos años como estuvo entre rejas, y entre los que destacan su integridad, comprensión, lucha contra la injusticia, la pobreza y la ignorancia, su defensa de la libertad, su honestidad, sinceridad, humanidad, valentía, entereza, generosidad, solidaridad, su poesía y su lucha contra la infamia y la mentira.

El Ayuntamiento de Córdoba también ha aprobado por unanimidad el Proyecto Europeo de Revitalización Integral «Urban Sur», que dispone de un presupuesto total de 14.947.417 euros, pues además de la aportación inicial del Consistorio de 4,9 millones, cuenta con 10.044.432 euros del Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER).

También con el voto de todos los grupos políticos, el Pleno del Ayuntamiento ha dado el visto bueno a una moción en defensa de los servicios esenciales municipales ante la liberalización del mercado energético y otra sobre la construcción de aparcamientos, de forma que, dentro del Plan de Rehabilitación de Edificios de la empresa de Viviendas de Córdoba, se posibilite el aparcamiento en las zonas privadas de uso público.

Otras de las mociones aprobadas con el respaldo de todos los concejales han sido una referida a la remodelación de la carretera de Trassierra y otra sobre la agilización de concesión de licencias municipales.

Además, en el Pleno del Ayuntamiento de Córdoba se ha dado el último paso para la entrada en vigor de los presupuestos municipales de este año con la toma de conocimiento del documento, que viene tras el periodo de exposición pública que se inició después de la aprobación provisional en el Pleno.

Los presupuestos para este año recogen una previsión de ingresos consolidados, que incluye el Ayuntamiento, las empresas municipales y los organismos autónomos, de 453.986.396 euros y unos gastos de 452.070.753 euros.

Esta cifra de gastos supone un 10,47 por ciento menos que lo contabilizado para el año pasado, cuando se recogía un gasto consolidado de 504 millones.

El Ayuntamiento de Córdoba también ha aprobado, con la abstención del PP, dos planes de saneamientos de empresas públicas, una de ellas es la de Cementerios de Córdoba (CECOSAM) y otra la empresa municipal de Proyectos de Córdoba Siglo XXI (PROCORDOBA).

La Hispalense recupera alumnos por la crisis tras 13 años de caída

Licenciados o profesionales de entre 30 y 39 años que se han quedado sin trabajo o no lo encuentran y optan por seguir formándose. Éste es el perfil del nuevo estudiante de la Universidad de Sevilla, que le ha sacado partido a la crisis. Por primera vez desde el curso 1996/97 sube, discretamente eso sí, en número de alumnos.

Es tan sólo un 1,81% más de estudiantes matriculados en 2008, pero este dato supone la constatación, según la Universidad de Sevilla, de un “cambio de tendencia”. “Las situaciones de crisis ayudan a que la gente siga formándose antes de entrar en el mercado laboral”, explicó ayer el gerente de la institución, Juan Ignacio Ferraro, a modo de posible explicación del aumento del número de alumnos por primera vez en los últimos trece años.

La Universidad ya no es patrimonio de los jóvenes de 18 años recién salidos del Bachillerato. De hecho, aunque los alumnos de nuevo ingreso han subido también en el curso que ahora expira un 2,20%, lo cierto es que, en el cómputo global, el saldo de este perfil de alumno tradicional sigue siendo negativo.

¿Dónde hay que buscar, por tanto, la causa principal del aumento del número de alumnos? Pues en la alianza de la crisis con la implantación del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior, o Plan Bolonia, y en el nuevo modelo de segundo ciclo que se lleva ofertando desde hace tres cursos, los posgrados oficiales o también másteres. En este segmento, el número de alumnos en este curso ha sido 1.150, 358 más que en 2007/2008. En porcentaje, un 45,2% más. “Bolonia va a revitalizar la Universidad”, apuntó Ferraro en la presentación de la novena edición del anuario estadístico correspondiente al curso 2008/2009.

La Hispalense sigue siendo la segunda Universidad del país en número de estudiantes, por detrás de la Complutense de Madrid. En total, cuenta con 66.116 estudiantes matriculados (54.752 en titulaciones oficiales de primer y segundo ciclo en centro propios y 11.364 en tercer ciclo o doctorado, posgrado oficial, posgrado universitario e Instituto de Idiomas). En el ámbito de la comunidad andaluza, sólo la también centenaria Universidad de Granada supera a la Hispalense en número de estudiantes, hecho que el gerente de la institución sevillana achaca a que la oferta de Sevilla es “más generalista” mientras que la de Granada está “más diferenciada”. En cualquier caso, la Universidad sevillana aporta uno de cada cuatro universitarios que hay en Andalucía. Ella y Granada suponen el 50% de los estudiantes universitarios de la comunidad. La Hispalense es también un foco de atracción para los jóvenes marroquíes, mayoría en el segmento de estudiantes extranjeros no erasmus (1.092) que cursan estudios en Sevilla. Le siguen los estudiantes procedentes de Colombia, Portugal e Italia.

La Comisión Permanente del Consejo Económico y Social (CES) de Ceuta abordó ayer en una sesión los informes que se requerirán como requisito para dilucidar las posibilidades de puesta en marcha de la propuesta de extensión del Plus de Residencia al sector privado en Ceuta. Según explicó el presidente del CES, la idea es que estos informes estén finalizados antes del próximo 30 de septiembre.
El Consejo Económico y Social, tal y como estaba previsto, solicitará a distintos expertos la realización de dos informes sobre la propuesta de Comisiones Obreras de extensión del Plus de Residencia. El primero de ellos, que tendrá que ver con la cuestión de legalidad de la iniciativa, será encargado a un catedrático de Derecho de la Universidad de Granada, según precisó el presidente del Consejo Económico, Basilio Fernández.
El objetivo de este primer informe es el de determinar las posibilidades de viabilidad jurídica de esta iniciativa. El experto deberá informar sobre las opciones legales de regular mediante una Ley la extensión del Plus de Residencia al sector privado al tiempo que indique que esta no contraviene ninguna normativa.
El otro informe, de consecuencias económicas del desarrollo de esta medida será encargado a un grupo de trabajo de profesores y catedrátivos de la Universidad de Granada en virtud al convenio que el CES y la entidad están a punto de establecer para este tipo de cuestiones. El objetivo de este estudio será el de indicar las repercusiones, tanto negativas como positivas de la puesta en marcha de esta medida impulsada por la central Comisiones Obreras. Sobre todo las relacionadas con el empleo.
El presidente del CES explicó que la intención es que estén listos antes del 30 de septiembre.

The scientists distributed questionnaires among a group of 109 university male students, aged between 18 and 26 years.

The students were shown two series of jokes: one of them with sexist jokes where women were denigrated, and another one with common jokes, without any kind of sexist content.

The researchers then proposed them several scenes with different cases of battering against women, from minor to serious attacks, to ask them how they would react in those kinds of situation.

They observed that the students who had listened to sexist jokes were much more tolerant with male battering than those who had not, this is, that this kind of humour favours the mental mechanisms tolerant with violent behaviour towards women.

However, the researchers warn that the individuals affected by sexist humour showed a previous tendency to tolerate violence against women, as can be gathered from a survey that weighed up sexist attitudes against women.

Some of the items of the scale used by the scientist to measure men\’s sexist attitudes were: «Deep down, feminist women intend women to be more powerful than men», «Most of the women do not fully appreciate what men do for them» or «There are many women who make sexual insinuations to men and later they reject their advances just to make fun of them.»

Sexistische Frauenwitze sind nicht harmlos – sie fördern gedankliche Mechanismen, die Gewalt gegen Frauen rechtfertigen. Das berichten Forscher der Universität Granada http://www.ugr.es im Journal of Interpersonal Violence.

Aufschluss darüber gab ein Experiment, in dem männliche Studenten per Zufall entweder eine Serie von Witzen anhörten, die Frauen erniedrigen, oder belanglose Witze ohne sexistischem Inhalt. Unmittelbar darauf wurden die Probanden mit Szenen konfrontiert, bei denen Gewalt gegen Frauen in unterschiedlichem Schweregrad ausgeübt wurde. Als man sie befragte, wie sie jeweils reagieren würden, zeigten sich je nach Gruppe Unterschiede: Versuchspersonen, die zuvor frauenfeindliche Witze gehört hatten, tolerierten Aggressionen gegen Frauen weitaus eher als die Vergleichsgruppe.

«Indem sexistische Witze auf die Verspottung des anderen Geschlechts hinweisen, machen sie entsprechende Gedächtnisinhalte kurzzeitig besonders verfügbar», erklärt die Sozialpsychologin Andrea Abele-Brehm von der Universität Erlangen http://www.sozialpsychologie.phil.uni-erlangen.de im pressetext-Interview. Sexistisch seien Witze insofern, als sie Stereotype über das andere Geschlecht übertreiben und es auch lächerlich machen. Traditionelle Geschlechterrollen, die der Realität häufig hinterher hinken, würden damit im Bewusstsein aufrecht erhalten. «Tatsächlich ist es möglich, dass Menschen unmittelbar nachdem sie einen sexistischen Witz gehört haben das andere Geschlecht kurzfristig anders bewerten», so die Sozialpsychologin.

Der Effekt, den ein sexistischer Witz im Gehirn auslöst, sei eher kurzfristig, so Abele-Brehm. Langfristige Verhaltensänderungen seien erst dann denkbar, wenn man ständig derartigen Information ausgesetzt sei. Dass es mehr sexistische Witze über Frauen als über Männer gibt, sei einfach erklärbar. «Männer erzählen mehr Witze als Frauen, denn sie merken sich Witze in der Regel besser.»

Spain hosts International Symposium On Sense Of Humour

Spain hosts this week, for the first time in history, the international symposium on humour and laughter, where scientists and experts from four continents will discuss the latest advances and research of this field of study.
The ninth edition of the \’International Summer School and Symposium on Humour and Laughter: Theory, Research and Applications\’ is being hosted by the University of Granada, and they will analyse the relationship between sense of humour and different fields such as anthropology, sociology, medicine or philosophy.

According to the Professor of the University of Granada Hugo Carretero de Dios, «This is a dimension consubstantial to human beings which has traditionally attracted the attention of researchers of different research fields», says the UGR Professor.

The «International Summer School and Symposium on Humour and Laughter» is held every year in a different place of the world. This event also intends to assure that «those people who are doing research into the field of humour work on up-to-date information and tools with scientific support».

The event is taking place at the University of Granada and has been supported by the Mediterranean Centre of the UGR and the Health Department of the Andalusian Council.
