Sinopsis: In Greek mythology, Icarus is the son of the master craftsman Daedalus, the creator of the Labyrin th . Icarus and his father attempt to escape from Crete by means of wings that his father constructed from feathers and wax. Icarus’ father warns him first of complacency and then of hubris, asking that he fly neither too low nor too high, so the sea ‘5 dampness would not clog his wings or the sun’s heat melt them. Icarus ignored his father’s instructions not to fly too close to the sun; when the wax in his wings melted he tumbled out of the sky and fell into the sea where he drowned, sparking the idiom «don’t f ly too close to the sun».
Who is Icarus in nowadays7 What is the mean of the main idea of this ancient Greek myth today7 Why it’s 50 immortal7 – all these questions are based in a background of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University theater studio «Palepe» performance «Icarus». This myth interpretation was written by contemporary Lithuanian writher Justinas MarcinkeviCius as a reaetion of totalitarian system ideology.
Flying too 101’1 is even more dangerous than flying too high, beca use it fee ls deceptively safe. Where does it alllead us in the end? That to surpass the limitations someone would have to dare the Ica rus flight, that in turn means that this person abandons all safety nets … the outcome unclear, yet, to break the limits one has to «fly towards them». The choice is yours to make ….

El XVII Encuentro Internacional de Teatro de la Universidad de Granada se celebra entre el 4 y el 15 de marzo, con un total de 13 representaciones a cargo de distintos grupos universitarios de teatro, procedentes de España, Portugal, Lituania, Irán, Rumanía e Italia.
