More than twenty international experts participate in a book of the UGR on justice and law in a global society

From the political-juridical crossroads of globalization to the moral bases and geopolitical functions of the international regulation of minorities rights, a new redefinition of the concept of justice in the world or the general theory of law, this book titled “Law and Justice in a global society” which has just been published by the Universidad de Granada Press in the number 39 of the “Annals of the Seminar Francisco Suárez”, in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy of Law, includes about thirty communications of specialists from all over the world.

The volume, of more than 800 pages, has been edited by professors Manuel Escamilla and Modesto Saavedra, of the Department of Philosophy of Law of the Universidad de Granada, who have divided the book into three chapters: Papers and communications, debates and the IVR Prize Winning Paper.

Among the speakers there are figures such as Juan Ramón Capella, Luigi Ferrajoli, Nancy Fraser, Jürgen Habermas, David Held, Will Kymlicka, Francisco Laporta, Neil MacCormick, Uma Narayan, Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Itaru Shimazu, Agustín Squella, Gunther Teubner, William Twining, or Iris Young.

The book “Law and justice in a global society” deals, among other aspects, with the crisis of democracy in the age of globalization, political construction for world pluralist society, the principles of the cosmopolitan order, law globalization and the rule of law, the European constitutional process, colonialism, genre, informal labour sector and social justice, individual and collective decisions, concept of law and social change or global responsibility and justice: a connection model.
