Since the set in motion of the Erasmus and Socrates European Mobility Programs of Students in 1987, more than 10,000 students of multiple nationalities have attended several subjects at the Universidad de Granada, according to professor Remedios Castillo Pérez in the book “A study on the trajectory of the international programs of mobility and exchange in the Universidad de Granada”, published by the Universidad de Granada Press in the collection “Library of Political Sciences and Sociology.”
Remedios Castillo also says that “the offer of the Universidad de Granada to learn the Spanish language has also been a success, as a high number of students from all over the world who confer the city a cosmopolitan aspect and come to Granada to get to know the Spanish language and culture in the Centre of Modern Languages. Besides –according to the author of the book–, these young people enrich us with their culture, at the time that they are emissaries of our artistic values and singularity”.
To the opposite, says Remedios Castillo, “the Universidad de Granada has seen to it that the students can also choose other universities to attend courses and acquire part of their education abroad, both through European programs or establishing bilateral agreements with universities from all over the world”.
The book analyses the trajectory of the international programs, the European programs and the contribution of the Universidad de Granada; students’ mobility, the types of programs and the number of students; the presence of the Universidad de Granada in the national and international academic networks, the Centre of Modern Languages, the support centres for students, and statistical boards.
