E-learning is an educational model to solve in an agile and efficient way flexible educational demands regardless distance or time. The thesis of Ely Karina Anaya Rivera, titled “An e-learning-teaching model: Analysis, design and application in a Mexican university system” and supervised by professors Enrique Herrera Viedma and Oscar Cordón García, of the University of Granada, suggests the implementation of an e-learning model in a Mexican technological university to make the most of this system.
The research work has analysed the educational model of the Mexican Technological Universities to identify their current problems and present alternative solutions for e-learning. The thesis has presented a methodology of change from the study: a design of the didactic-technological model of learning/teaching according to the methodology of change of the Technological University; implementation of an educational experience through the setting of an online course using the suggested didactic-technological model; and the application of an electronic assessment questionnaire to assess the functionality of the model from students´ satisfaction.
According to the author of the thesis, Ely Karina Anaya Rivera, in Mexico “the socio-economic situation affects seriously higher education, especially because many university students have to look for a job at an early age. In the same way, it is clear labour competition must reduce due to the unstable situation of the country. That is why continuous education is necessary. The lack of flexible educational programs is bringing with it a series of problems in different universities of the country. According to the author, “the proposal of analysis, design and implementation presented in the thesis intends to tackle flexible education needs demanded by university students in the Technological University. The work, in short, “aspires to the gradual integration of e-learning in Mexican universities to allow their students to continue their studies.”
