Higher consumption of chocolate lowers levels of fat and BMI

Fresh new research published in the journal Nutrition shows that higher consumption of chocolate among adolescents and adults is linked to a lower BMI.

In the study, researchers from the University of Granada found that eating more chocolate is linked to lower levels of abdominal and total body fat.

The study looked at the diet of almost 1,500 adolescents, aged between 12 and 17, Taking part in the Healthy Lifestyle in Europe by Nutrition in Adolescence Cross-Sectional Study.

The results conclusively showed that higher chocolate consumption is associated with lower a BMI in European adolescents.

Various other researchers have come to the same conclusion.

A study in America found that out of 1,000 Californians, aged between 20 to 85, the individuals who consumed more chocolate had lower levels of fat.
