By Hanadi Watfa(with photos) MADRID, June 30 (KUNA) The Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud AlBabtain’s Prize for PoeticCreativity plays a vital role in spreading the Arabic Language and acquainting the public with the Arabic andIslamic culture, Representative of the Foundation in Spain Dr. Nader AlJallad noted on Saturday.AlJallad, an associate Professor at the University of Cordoba, told KUNA that the Foundation has been makingtremendous efforts in connecting bridges amongst different cultures through holding many events to keep thepublic as well as the academics engaged in various literary activities.These activities, AlJallad stressed, has eliminated many stereotypes and faulty common concepts about theArab and Islamic worlds.The Foundation’s activities in Spain are clearly seen in the «Andalusia Prize» which was won by the Spanishresearcher Jose Ramirez del Rio in May. The subject of his research focused on the civilization and the cultureof Andalusia.The Foundation’s efforts in spreading the Arabic language and culture can also be seen through holding manylectures, seminars and training courses at prestigious Andalusia universities such as University of Cordoba,University of Granada, University of Malaga and University of Seville.These academic functioning, such as oneyear programs of teaching Arabic language and shortterms ones thatteach Arabic calligraphy, Arabic poetry and literature, have attracted many Spanish people who are interested ingetting familiarized with this culture.Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud AlBabtain’s Prize for Poetic Creativity was established in 1989.
