SCHOLASTIC HONORS

Maren Haag, a senior at Lake Forest College in Illinois and a graduate of Campolindo High School in Moraga, is currently studying abroad in Granada, Spain, for the 2004 fall semester.

The program at the University of Granada offers students complete immersion in Spanish culture, including an intensive orientation in Spanish culture and language before studies begin. In addition, students stay with host families during their entire study abroad.

Students have been selected for the 38th annual edition of Whos Who Among American High School Students. Nominated by their high school principals, guidance counselors, youth groups, churches and educational organizations, they are chosen based on their academic achievements and extracurricular activities.

Students selected by their coaches, teachers and sports organizations are featured in the 2003-2004 edition of Whos Who Among American High School Students, Sports Edition. Brandy Carney of Lafayette; Kajita C. Eames, Laurel E. Lamontagne and Jeff J. Reekers, all of Moraga; and Sabrina Hung Hsuan Wu of Orinda were chosen for this publication based on athletic achievement and participation in extracurricular activities.

Students appearing in the current publication of Whos Who Among American High School Students, Whos Who Among American High School Students, Sports Edition and The National Deans List have selected the teachers who have made a difference in their entire academic experience. These teachers are being honored in the eighth edition of Whos Who Among Americas Teachers.

Katherine Elizabeth George of Lafayette graduated from Washington State University, Pullman, in the summer of 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in English.

Caldann Thomas Stevens of Orinda and Anthony Louis Fahden of Lafayette have enrolled in the class of 2008 at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. Stevens is the son of Danita and Thomas Stevens; Fahden is the son of Janice and Antone Fahden.

Dartmouth, founded in 1769, is the ninth oldest college in the nation. It has an enrollment of 4,200 undergraduates and more than 1,000 graduate students in engineering, business and medicine.
