Conferencia «Rising temperatures may enhance annual net carbon assimilation in a subalpine Mediterranean ecosystem based on 13 years of eddy covariance measurements», impartida por  Belén Díaz Collante, estudiante de doctorado en la UGR.

Resumen: El «Llano de los Juanes” is a Mediterranean-type ecosystem located in Sierra de Gádor (Almería), where fluxes of CO2 and water vapour have been measured continuously from 2004. Now that we have more than a decade of data, we can assess the interannual variability of those fluxes and the biophysical and climate factors that modulate such variability. In the context of global warming, increasing temperatures may affect the ability of terrestrial ecosystems to absorb CO2, so it is also relevant to see if there is any possible emerging trend in ecosystem CO2 and water vapour exchange and their possible climatic drivers. These results will be shown together with an estimation of the water infiltration to the aquifers in this site, a process which is extremely important in an area with so much greenhouse agriculture. This presentation will be an oral contribution to the International Symposium Geoecology and desertification: from physical to human factors (EcoDesert) which will be held from 20th to 22th of February in Almería. .
