Conferencia: «Internet of Things: Concepts, Technologies and Applications»

Conferencia impartida por el Dr. Payam Barnaghi (University of Surrey), en el marco del Máster en Desarrollo de Software del Departamento de Lenguajes y Sistemas Informáticos de la Universidad de Granada.

• Resumen: Digital data and connected worlds of physical objects, people and devices are rapidly changing the way we work and interact with our surrounding environments. The connected networks of sensors, actuators and processing components are often referred to as the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT technologies have a profound impact on different domains, such as healthcare, environmental monitoring, urban systems, and control and management applications, among others. However, these large volumes of heterogeneous data require new methods of communication, aggregation, processing and mining in order to extract efficient and actionable information from the raw data. This lecture will focus on the IoT technologies and will discuss opportunities and challenges of using large-scale IoT data analytics in different applications and services.
• Biografía: Payam Barnaghi is Professor of Machine Intelligence at the University of Surrey. He is a senior member of IEEE and an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Big Data. His research interests include machine learning, Internet of Things, semantic web, adaptive algorithms, information centric networks and information search and retrieval.
