Occupy Climate Change! online school 2023 (gratuito)

Con colaboradores del programa OCC Goes Global damos la bienvenida a una escuela de invierno interdisciplinar en línea de tres fines de semana en la que invitamos a en fase inicial de su carrera (estudiantes de máster en su fase avanzada de tesis, estudiantes de doctorado y postdoctorados) a explorar el cambio climático y sus consecuencias de pérdida y daño, para aquellos interesados en la justicia medioambiental, la justicia climática, las humanidades medioambientales, la historia medioambiental, los estudios de medios de comunicación, la ecología política, la literatura/la narración de historias. La escuela está dirigida a quienes estén interesados en la investigación interdisciplinar y la acción directa, los movimientos urbanos por la justicia climática, el papel de los imaginarios dominantes/contrahegemónicos dentro de las políticas sobre cambio climático, y quieran contribuir al Atlas de los Otros Mundos con sus investigaciones originales y trabajos creativos.

Application

To apply for the school, please send the following by 15 March 2023 to armiero@icrea.cat

  • 2-page CV
  • 1-page motivation letter
  • 250-word abstract on the final assignment. For the final assignment, you are supposed to write one or two entries for the OCC! Atlas. The entries can be:
    • Entries on municipal/regional/local initiatives to tackle climate change (for instance: the city of xxx promoting cycling as an alternative to private car mobility)
    • Entries on a grassroots initiative to tackle climate change (for instance: an urban gardening project in a working-class neighbourhood in xxx)
    • Short creative stories imagining a city/town 200 years from now (this is a creative writing exercise, imagine your city in the year 2200)
