The UGR has published, in collaboration with the University of Seville, a book about research in Art Education

The author, Ricardo Marín Viadel, a lecturer at the department of Didactics of Musical, Visual and Corporal Expression of the Universidad de Granada, says that this book is a photography of the moment we are living now, in the changeable field in which Visual Arts and Education converge, from an intellectual and institutional approach.

The book “Investigación en Educación Artistica» (Research in Art Education) edited by the Universidad de Granada in collaboration with the Universidad de Sevilla, covers, in three main sections, the ideas and the concepts, the theories and the discussions on Art Education that are being proposed nowadays.

Furthermore, the book is also devoted to the strategies and research techniques on art learning and the new questions that focus researchers’ attention: means of communication, new audiovisual technologies, museums, art therapy, etc.

More than twenty people have collaborated in the book, which has more than 530 pages, in a wide range of topics, from the structure of artistic knowledge to the research methods of children’s drawing. Other topics are, for example, poetics and didactics of the conceptual work, feminist theories and art education.
