The Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) has recognised the quality of the University of Granada’s Erasmus+ mobility project
During its annual Erasmus+ Conference, the SEPIE recognised the quality of the projects managed by the University of Granada (UGR) in the higher education category. Held at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the awards ceremony was attended by several members of the UGR, including the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Inmaculada Marrero (who collected the award); Director for International Mobility, Simón Suárez Cuadros; Director for Internationalization, María Luisa Palazón; Director for International Projects and Networks, Irene Pedreira; and Verónica Conejo, a Senior Technical Officer at the International Relations Office.
In particular, the SEPIE commended the UGR’s Erasmus+ mobility project, praising its “outstanding implementation, very high percentage of completed mobilities, effective budget management, and strong cooperation with partners,” especially with regard to blended intensive programmes.
The award statement also acknowledged that the UGR «applies its agreements in an exemplary manner, offers adequate support to participants, and guarantees the academic recognition of mobility programmes.” It went on to emphasise that “the impact achieved is significant, strengthening international reach, motivating the educational community, and ensuring effective dissemination at the regional and transnational levels.»
The SEPIE, which is part of the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU), is the National Agency in Spain designated by the European Commission to manage decentralised education and training actions under the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme.
The Erasmus+ Programme is the European Union’s flagship initiative for international academic mobility. It is open to virtually all countries around the world and to all individuals, including students, teaching staff, and technical and administrative staff (at all educational levels).
