The Resource Production Centre for the Digital University (CEPRUD) brings together experts from five countries to review and validate the tools developed by the European AIDA4teachers project, which are designed to transform the continuing professional development of teachers.
The University of Granada (UGR) has strengthened its position as a leader in educational innovation and digital transformation by hosting the 3rd Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA3) and the 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM4) of the European project ‘Artificial Intelligence Assistant and Digital Self-Assessment for Teachers’ Continuing Professional Development (AIDA4teachers)’, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. Over three days of meetings, Granada became a meeting point for representatives of universities, ministries of education and national agencies from Germany, Italy, Portugal and Türkiye, as well as representatives of the UGR.
The meeting marked a major step forward in the project, which aims to develop an AI assistant and a digital self-assessment model for teachers. Together, these tools are designed to support the continuing professional development of teachers across Europe by providing innovative resources and fostering personal reflection on teaching practices.
The meeting in Granada enabled the partners to review both tools at their current stage of development, coordinate the upcoming pilot phase and agree on common procedures for assessing their implementation in different educational contexts. They also analysed the results achieved to date, reviewed the project’s quality assurance, dissemination and sustainability strategies, and planned the next research and knowledge transfer activities.
The University of Granada played a leading role in this phase of the project. As well as hosting the meeting, the University was responsible for the academic planning and organisation of the activities, facilitating collaboration among the members of the international consortium.
The UGR’s participation was coordinated by Emilio Crisol Moya, the AIDA4teachers project lead in Spain and coordinator of the University of Granada team, which also includes Vanesa María Gámiz Sánchez and Lara Checa Domene. Their joint work has helped strengthen the University of Granada’s position as a leading European institution in research and innovation on the application of artificial intelligence to teacher training and the digital transformation of education.
The working sessions included specialist training, practical demonstrations of the AI assistant, technical meetings to validate the Digital Self-Assessment Model and opportunities for scientific exchange. These activities were aimed at ensuring the consistent implementation of the tools developed through the project.
The training sessions included a contribution from Alberto Guillén, Director of the CEPRUD, who presented the UGR’s model for training teachers in digital skills and artificial intelligence. The model is designed to improve their skills in the use of these technologies for educational purposes.
José Manuel Rodríguez Olmedo, a teacher at CEIP Tínar, a bilingual pre-primary and primary school in Albolote (Granada), discussed how teachers develop their digital competence, focusing in particular on the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching practices. The sessions provided an opportunity to compare the tools developed through the project with real-world experiences in teacher training, reinforcing the link between university research, educational innovation and day-to-day practices in schools.
The AIDA4teachers project is funded under the 2024 Erasmus+ call. It is one of 16 Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships (KA220) in which the University of Granada is currently participating. The project has received a total grant of €250,000.
