Tareas:
- In this project, the PhD student will partner with the Dutch registry and New York University to design, build, and evaluate practical techniques and tools for mitigating the threat from IoT powered DDoS attacks.
- The PhD student will design tools for in-home networks, which will leverage DNS to detect infected IoT devices. The results from these DNS-based detection efforts will be leveraged in both DNS based blocking and end device cleanup efforts.
- The other goal of the PhD thesis will be to build automated tools for understanding the economics and structure of DDoS-for-hire services. This understanding will be utilized to disrupt the flow of money between customers and services and to identify other potential bottlenecks to disrupt.
