V Centenary\nHorizon Project<\/a><\/strong><\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nearly 500 years have passed since the University of Granada\nopened its doors to knowledge. During his stay in the city and\nwithin the framework of the agreements adopted by the\nCongregation of the Royal Chapel, Emperor Charles V signed a\nRoyal Warrant on 7 December 1526 establishing the General\nStudies in Granada. Subsequently, upon the emperor's request and\nby means of a bull issued on 14 July 1531, Pope Clement VII\nconfirmed the foundation and development of the University of\nGranada. Arqus European University Alliance.<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The European Universities Initiative is a project of the European\nCommission that seeks to establish transnational alliances aimed at\nbecoming the universities of the future, to foster the European\nidentity and its values, and to revolutionise the quality and\ncompetitiveness of European higher education. These alliances\ncover a wide geographical area across Europe and are based on a\njointly planned long-term strategy that focuses on sustainability,\nexcellence and European values. These partnerships offer studentcentred curricula taught jointly on inter-university campuses,\nwhere students can design their own education pathways as well as\nundertake mobility periods at any level of study. A challengebased learning approach is adopted in which students and teaching\nstaff members, together with external partners, cooperate in\ninterdisciplinary teams in order to address the great challenges of\nthe 21st century. <\/a>UGR-DONES Project<\/a><\/strong><\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Together with CIEMAT, the UGR is implementing in Granada the\nIFMIF-Dones Particle Accelerator project, which is currently\nconsidered an ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium)\nand with a consortium already established for its implementation\nand execution. This project is part of the EU's ambitious\nprogramme to turn fusion as an energy source into a scientific and\ntechnological project with an international dimension. UGR-AI Project<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project is linked to the resilience project that the UGR has presented, the\nobjective of which is the creation of an \"Andalusian Centre for Innovation and\nDigitalisation: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Virtual Environments and 5G\n(CAID)\". With a budget of \u20ac48.5 million, this project integrates all the research groups\nspecialised in digital transformation from the UGR, as well as groups from the\nUniversities of Ja\u00e9n and C\u00f3rdoba. UGR-Sustainability<\/a><\/strong><\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This project is connected to the resilience project presented by\nthe UGR \"Andalusian Innovation Green Hub on Artificial\nIntelligence & Geodesign for e-Biodiversity Services - AI2 Green\nBioHub\" which, with a budget of \u20ac48 million, brings together the\ninnovation actions in sustainability and ecological transition of\ngroups at the University of Granada, University of Huelva and\nLifeWatch ERIC. This project builds on a previous important\nmilestone, namely the UGR\u2019s award of a LifeWatch ERIC project:\n\"Thematic Center On Mountain Ecosystem & Remote Sensing, Deep\nLearning-AI E-Services University of Granada-Sierra Nevada (Smart\nEcoMountains)\".
